Does the "magic box" continue to change the world?

If the invention of Gutemberg allowed the creation of the written press and delayed the ideas; the radio, with its voice, began to enchant thousands of listeners; television, which was invented in the 1920s, allowed us to associate the voices we had previously heard on the radio with the faces of men and women who work every day to produce thousands of hours of content at our disposal at the touch of a button.
Since the use of television was democratized (the first televisions were very expensive, which meant that only the "rich" people and the commercial establishments could own this apparatus that made the places fill, getting some people to the window to try to see the European glories of Benfica or the most recent episode of the novel "Gabriela"), the great majority of the world population has one at home (most of the time it has more than one) and it is from her that entertains, has access to culture (since it is much cheaper to tune into AXN or FOX than to buy a ticket to go to the movies) and information (it is true that we are increasingly informed of what is happening in the country and the world by means of digital media and social networks, which are often untrue. If we are increasingly informed by social media, television is still the medium most people trust to inform themselves.
It has been so since the 1920s and will continue to be, even though many have already predicted the end of television. Only the television will not end, after all the radio and the newspapers never end, but much is going to change. In fact, a lot has changed and will continue to change. One of the things that has already changed is the ever greater complementarity between the televisions and what we can see on their respective websites.
There are even content that is created on purpose for the sites of different channels. At the moment, in the RTP Play can be seen the series "Enamorados". This series is only transmitted by the site. Other content is meant to complement what we see on television. During Eurovision, the RTP website transmitted the daily "Todos a Bordo", which featured interviews and other exclusive content about the biggest music contest in the world.
In Portugal, television appeared in 1955. The first broadcast was made in the former Fair of the Feira Popular, and since then the number of television stations in Portugal has increased, and there are numerous local channels that transmit the main news from different regions.
In relation to the most watched programs, with more viewers, these usually are soccer games (the end of the european championship made the whole country unite around the television), soap operas ("The Other", TVI , one of the most watched soap operas ever) or reality shows (the first issue of Big Brother has changed the audiovisual landscape forever).
Television can have several negatives, and positives, but it will continue to change the world.
